ROOFTOP MCs as at the year of our lord 2008 ad the origin of the group rooftopmcs is involved in obscurity, the commonly received accounts are for the most parts legendary. soulsnatcha, one part of the group says spending too much time at the movies and go-kart racing on sundays has made him forget some parts of the story. Much couldnt be gotten from sokleva (the other half of the group) who spends his private time watching tv and just chilling at home kept saying "save the cheerleader save the world" at what exact time or place the group was formed is unknown but there is this old Nigerian mirth that says, on the 3rd of January 1893 governor carter who was then in charge of the western colony left on a tour to sign a treaty with thje alake of egba land he went with a posse of Hausa soldiers and was heading to abeokuta. it was said that he had a device called a 60gig ipod touch with him and his entourage could hear him scream "i need a shock therapy" we dont know how much of this is true but what we know we say and this is it *in 1999 soulsnatcha started a group called g-force consisting him Aisha rapta-us green and turbo *in 2000 kleva joined *in 2002 the group changed its name to rooftopmcs and the others left to pursue other things leaving snatcha and kleva *in 2004 rtmcs released a smash hit "shock therapy" a blend of rock rap and fuji such that has never been seen or head of in these parts. * that same year they were nominated for the best new artist at the AWARDS FOR MUSICAL EXCELLENCE IN NIGERIA *That same year they dropped thier first album shock therapy *in 2004 they revamped the album added new songs and removed some and released what they called SHOCK THERAPY THE UPGRADE:THE 2ND 1ST IMPRESSION * in 2005 rtmcs were nominated at the first hip hop world awards in 4 categories * they both love rice, any kind ofada fried rice uncle benz and condeellesa rice * in 2007 rooftopmcs released the video of shock therapy tottaly off the chains it debuted on number 10 on mtv charts * in 2007 they released the first single(silence) of thier new album tittled minority report *towards the end of 007 the monster hit lagimo was released * 2008 the minority report dropped *lagimo became number one in virtually every chart show in nigeria for weeks * 2008 lagimo was nominated for best rap single at the hiphop world awards * 2008 rooftopmcs started their campus tour with an outstanding concert at the university of lagos * theres still more but im starving make i reach canteen i beg
