Biography

Founder of hit group, Trybesmen, Eldee is making a comeback to his Nigerian fans after a brief sojourn in the United States. He was in the country to perform at one of the Big Brother Nigeria eviction parties and later in December to perform at a couple of shows. His album, “Return of The King” hit the streets of Nigeria on the 23rd of July. Hit singles from the album include Champion, African Chikito, and I Go Yarn are making waves on the radio stations nationwide.The CEO of Trybe records, Eldee is a rapper of repute, producer extraordinaire and pioneer of the Nigerian hip hop sound. The don is responsible for identifying and producing talented acts like Sid, Sasha, Del, 2-Shots, just to mention a few. His production has graced a host of Nigerian hit tracks and his sound has not gone unnoticed on the foreign scene as he has recorded songs with international recording artistes like Lauryn Hill.Music has been a part of his life for as long as he can remember. As a kid, a friend of his Mom, a DJ, took him to several clubs so he could get a feel of the different sounds. He also enjoyed growing up in sleepy Kaduna, which helped in the careful and delicate creation of his musical mind, which he calls his “greatest weapon”. He spent most of his childhood there, moving to Lagos after high school where he studied Architecture at the University of Lagos. A graduate of architecture with a professional attitude towards life in general, Eldee can bring you into his world of creativity in an effortless manner. Eldee's love for hip hop can only be imagined, as he has not only proved beyond reasonable doubt that it can be appreciated even in Africa with his works but that "hip hop is a weapon of the youth's re-orientation". As a high school student, without any prior knowledge of music production, Eldee put pieces together and made music. He’s been rapping since 1992. Today, Eldee is one of the most versatile producers on the west coast of Africa. Eldee has put out albums, which have done extremely well. The blend of African rhythms and the basic hip hop bounce keep Eldee's joints on point.Eldee is one of the strongest revolutionary hip hop forces in West Africa because his work and those of a select few have been able to command the respect of an international audience. El currently lives in Atlanta and has since become a known face at concerts and lives shows in Atlanta and is probably the biggest and most accepted hip hop act out of Nigeria so far.
