Jericho Jerome Gawanab (21 May 1980) well-known as Jericho and nicknamed J-Twizzle, is a Namibian rapper from Katutura, Windhoek. He's one of the most successful and outstanding MC's in Namibia. His videos are played on MTV Base and Channel O.
Upon his release from prison in 2004, Jericho joined Black Market, (the most popular hip hop label at the time). With Black Market, Jericho recorded a few songs with Black Market producer Kanibal, which helped create him a buzz. After the release of his successful single "Check Who's Back" he left the label. He continued recording songs, and released his second popular single "Still Love U". In early 2006 he released his debut album Check Who's Back, which became the first successful hip hop album in Namibia. This was followed by his sophomore release Lights Out in 2007.
In the music industry Jericho developed close friendships with fellow musicians and appeared on their albums, including D-Naff - (Above The Limit), Sunny Boy - (The Sleeping Giant), and The Dogg - (This Is My Time) among others.
